Hey Guys,
Im trying to figure out whats upp with the fuel gauge on my G506- just got it last April.
When the ignition is turned on, needle moves and shows empty- I tested for voltage and have 6 volts on stud on empty side of gauge, zero on the other stud and zero at the sending unit.
When I read resistance across the sending unit terminals I get 4.8 Ohms.
Any ideas?
The ww 2 vehicle troubleshooting giude says the systems grounded could it be the gauge?
Thanks,
Bob J.

An interesting diagnostics is found here about fuel gauges.

While it is geared toward "girlie man" vehicles (jeeps) the theory does relate to the real man trucks, CCKW's.

Good Luck!

Make sure that the gauge and panel are grounded to the gauge case
