USAF chevy from WW2

In going thru some old pix, I found a pix of my M6 Chev Bomb Truck as it arrived and after I had sanded the hood to find the numbers.

My question is did the USAF change numbers on the hoods after they took over the trucks from the USA Air Corp? Mu hood has USAF over 0037879

What is the wheel base on you bomb truck?

125" I believe from memory. It is shorter than the civy truck which is shorter than the std mil truck.
