Unusual CCKW application

Here is a photo I came across while researching my truck. It is from 1940.

The caption says it is a CCKW AKW353. Not quite correct.

That would be an ex French truck.

Not unusual. The German Army used many captured vehicles called "Beutefahrzeuge" after the Invasion of France 1940. Most of them were destroyed during the Russia Campaign. Not only during combat but because of lack of spare parts.
