GMC ACKWX
A few days ago I got a lead about two old, 6X6 army trucks that a local farmer has. Today we went to look at them, they were in a barn covered with miscellaneous mechanical parts. They haven't seen daylight in over 25 years. They have large silage bodies on them. I am almost positive that they are 1940 ACKWX's. They are in decent shape with only a few dents from being used on the farm, other than that they are fairly solid trucks. Does anyone know what a truck like this would be worth? I would like to make the gentleman a fair offer on them but I have no idea what a truck like this is worth.

Re: GMC ACKWX
My opinion;
2 Trucks without correct beds ..... not much unless the beds are on the property somewhere
I've paid from $400.00 to $1500,00 on chassis /cabs depending the condition and the rarity of the parts ie spare tire carriers ,GOOD sheet metal, hard to find items.
These 2 are early trucks and some items will also be hard to locate ( if you plan on a restoration )
Start low it always easier to go up in price (when you're the buyer )
Hope this helps

Re: GMC ACKWX
There were 2 groups of ACKWS's: Earlier ones with 4 speeds and later ones with 5 speeds like a CCKW.
John is correct. The rear body determines if it is a $500 truck or a $5000 truck
