Ring Mount with back cushion

I am not sure what it's Ord number is but I have recently acquired a ring mount with all the extra doo-dads and the back cushion.
Used late war I am told.
Would like to find the ammo can holder for this.
Not sure if it's the same as the one mounted on the leg mount like this one.

If anyone has more info on this ring or where I might find the tray, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Cap'n,
Which set of leg mounts do you have?
The cast mounts...
or the stamped mounts (as pictured in the link).

Bill,
I'll be using the cast mounts.
I think there is a spot on the outer ring carriage for a ammo can mount.
I'll try to get some pics tomorrow before I have to go plow snow for the Turkey holiday........

I guess I was mistaken about a specific spot for an ammo can tray.
Here's more pics of the ring and carriage.
The backrest mounts on those two small tabs opposite the pintle trolley. I removed it for straightening and new upholstery.
I spose the rod that sticks up is for spinning it.
Wish I knew more about this thing.
It's a heavy finger pincher for sure. Pick it up wrong and watch out.

Cap'n,
I have TM9-2016 dated February 1957. It covers most of the WWII ring mounts.
It covers M24 and M36 and other M3x mounts, The 30/50 pintel mount and the sliding cradle. Nothing in it about your setup.
I know I have seen printed information concerning what you have. I will continue to look but right now I can't put my hands on it. I am sure others on here know.

You are using your back to assist in traversing the gun to the left or right.( by sliding your back around the ring)
I have seen it the TM ( now I'm gonna have to dig it out and make sure )
This mount helps you keep both hands on the trigger
as oppossed to using one of them ( hands ) to push the trolley around.
I believe you are correct in it being "late war'
Wouldn't the spare ammo trays mount to the leg brackets anyway ?
The 30/50 combo cradle would be the same as the "regular " more commonly seen mounts and would also mount a tray or "ready " box...... as I'm sure you know
Is this the info you are looking for ??????
Hope this helps
John

What you have pictured is an M49A1 "early version "
For more info look in MVM #97 pg 136 article titled " Pair of Dueces " by who else but David Doyle
Let me know if you don't have it ....I'll scan and E-Mail it to you
Cheers
John

Mornin' John,
Thanks, at least I know what to call it now.....M49A1.
I will see if I have that MVM. My filing system is sorta vertical.
Judging from the paint color and the material used for the back cushion, this one was used post war. I can fix that.
Where would a guy start looking for a couple of ready can trays. Nice option to finish out the ring mount methinks.
