Pontiac staff car

I'm looking for a car for my WW2 US Army staff car project. Found this one right here in Denmark (Stored in, yes youre right, a barn since 1974). It is a Pontiac 1939. The great question is - did that model serve as staff car during WW2. If so, where to find pics and tales?
