CCKWX Project for FREE!

Post by Chris T. »

I was given a CCKWX. The owner got a halftrack, so the CCKWX had to go! :( He started to restore it, but it's a long way from being done. The whole project is free, I only ask that the truck is finished and not parted out. The truck is at my shop in Chowchilla, California. The serial # is 8219 and the engine is 270 05828, so the engine is the same vinage as the truck. Email me at moparacer@thegrid.net with any questions or requests for photos.

I told Chris I would take the truck, but my health just won't allow me the physical strength to finish her up. I have had to decline, but looking at the photos he sent, they have done a wonderful job so far. This would be a great project for a much younger guy who loves the bigger iron. :D I sure hope someone steps up and saves the old truck. She deserves to be in parades like she did in 1941.

Thanks for the kind words. Also, thanks to all who have asked about the CCKWX. The truck is free, someone asked if I would sale the truck to them and I will not. The truck was free to me. I just want to find a good home for it. Everyone who asked for photos should have them. If you haven't, please email me. I have only posted the truck here. Thanks again Bill for the new CCKW soapbox.

The CCKWX left for the USMC museum down at Camp Pentleton today.

I would like to thank everyone who was willing to take her.

I am glad that she is going to be completed . I wish I had the stamina to have re-built her. That is good news, indeed.

When I go to that rest home for MV nuts, I am going to take my CCKW steering wheel and make GMC noises, I am working on my "double clutch" as we speak. Stamina is all relative, there is happiness for all.
