What year is my truck? (part 2)

Post by rhinexing »

I just purchased a CCKW SWB, non-winch, closed cab model. Can you help me with the manufacture/ delivery date since it has no data plates remaining? The serial number is:
CCKW352 53843 A2

Thanks!

Hi Mike
I can help you with the mfg date ,but if you don't have a del date its lost to history and you can only guess. Ser# 53843 A2 is a Sept 1941 production starting the month with 52,795 and ending with 56,663.Your truck is the 1048th truck built for the beging month of September 1941. According to GMC number suffix it is a cargo body, non winch, banjo axle truck. :D

Thanks Jim. Unfortunately, there's no trace of the registration number on the hood. From looking at the database, I think it should be a six-digit number with 46 or 47 as the first two numbers. Is this right?
