Ya know, I would LOVE to purchase some of Dirk's NOS parts, like a NOS RH door for instance, and maybe a closed cab seat set, but shipping would be terrible from there to the States.

If there are others out there who are also interested, heck maybe a group buy, and we can economically have these parts shipped to the states, please speak up.

Maybe we can get a better shipping price if we can ship a large pallet or load instead of individual parts?

anyone else considered this? ANyone else interested in some of these fine NOS parts?

I had a NOS exhaust pipe and tail pipe for my G506 shipped over from Belgium a few years back. The only reason I was even able to afford the shipping was because they were added to a shipping container of parts destined for one of the major jeep parts dealers. I then paid additional shipping from the dealer to me...

On the other hand I bought a spare tire bracket for the same truck, for a good price, and paid 3-4 times the price in shipping to get it across the pond. Regrets?? Not one, as they are very hard to find!

I'd be game for a group buy, but it would likely require an associate in Europe, familiar with shipping, preferably with container shipping, and with the room to store things until a container load was on hand. Then We would also need someone who could receive the container. There is actually a shipping container terminal 45 minutes east of me, on the Missouri river, but it would be a secondary shipment by barge. Last time I checked there are no ocean going vessels navigating the Missouri River! :?

One nice thing about LWD parts, is that they stock parts for a wide range of vehicles, so there would likely be a lot of interest from a number of different vehicle owners.

Post by LwD »

Some doors and cab seats are arrived in Ontario, Canada.
The picture is taken just before the piles & piles of snow.

Are these parts for sale (doors & seats)? If so, from who? Frank Von Rosenstiel?

Thanks Dirk!

A few years ago I had a skid of Dirk's parts shipped to Canada. There was I/2 track fenders, shovels, wheels and such. Everyone who participated seemed happy with the shipping price. We just divided it by size. I have Dirk's doors and seats at my place in Canada about and hour and a half from Watertown NY. or my shop is 2 hours from Buffalo NY.
Cheers,

Here is a photo of Dirk's son Stefan opening one of the crates with a NOS complete door inside. Notice right behind the crate, up against the wall there is a Hedgehog that Dirk picked up on the beach.
