G506 - 1942 - G7117.
I am repairing the steering linkage on this truck. I have posted this question on several websites and I am receiving conflicting replies or no replies. A Technical Bulletin was issued, titled "Steering Knuckle Arm Ball Failure TB10-1000-9 but nobody has seen a copy. I believe the ball diameter was upgraded from 1" to 1.125 inches at this time. What I am trying to determine is which of these statements would be correct:
1) a 1" ball on the pitman arm & a 1" ball on the steering knuckle arm, or
2) a 1" ball on the pitman arm & a 1.125" ball on the steering knuckle arm. or
3) a 1.125" ball on the pitman arm & a 1.125 ball on the steering knuckle arm.
Thank you for your time;
