Ben Hur Trailer

I receintly was able to pick up a pristine Ben Hur trailer. It went through a French rebuild in May 1965 and all the data plated were removed. The French data plate claims the serial number is 6410396. If that is right it would have had to be one made at the very end of the war. I am sure it never saw combat or any use as it doesn't have a dent or any damage on it what so ever. With the original data plates removed is there any way to determine who the manufactures is? Any stampings or marking anywhere else on the trailer? The serial number is close but actually falls outside of the range of numbers I have seen so I am not sure if it is correct. There are some numbers under a layer of paint on the rear of the trailer I am hoping I can discover the original USA number. I hope the French just carried forward all of the original numbers. Any Ideas?
