Mirrors.

Post by Matt »

Hi Nick,

I'm not sure these are correct for a CCKW,they are correct for WW2 Canadian CMP trucks.maybe Joel can tell us if these are CCKW mirrors.

I know several CMP owners have bought mirrors from this guy and they are happy with them.

Weaselnut is the inside mirror on your truck the same as these??

I don't know anything about the rear view mirrors so I have no clue if these are vintage WW2 or if they go on the CCKW. Just posted them so you guys can take a look.

The glass side looks close but the mount is different. It is not identical to the one currently on my CCKW.

The ebay mirror will not mount to the bracket that is currently used on my CCKW. Mine mounts with a single stud much like the outside mirrors.

My CCKW was a USA depot refurb in 1952 before taking a trip to Norway so I can not be sure that what is on it now was original.

The inside rear View mirror on the CCKW Open and Closed Cab has a 1/4"-28 single stud with a pivot ball in the rear of the Mirror. The EBay Item does not. There are late M-Series Mirrors out there at flea Markets and Fred Potter at Adirondack Dodge/Adirondack Military Surplus has a good supply at reasonable price. his are current, but essential the same and are close enough.

Don't forget to buy one, they're reasonable. Fred and I go way back, and we supply rare parts to each other, another person who values friendship.

Can anybody post a picture of the correct center mirror for closed cab? I'm looking for one and I even don't know what it looks like.

Thanks

When my wife returns Tuesday evening with the digital camera, I will send a pic of the currently available NOS correct mirror type along with pics of NOS Rubber and Plastic CCKW Steering Wheels to Bill for posting. I am talking interior rear view. The correct outside Rear View for CCKW/Chev are the 5" round "King Bee" with smoked lens that the Jeep parts persons are selling in Repro. I was lucky enough to buy a bunch of originals from Hilton twenty years ago, the repros are an accurate copy. I bought a few to compare.

As you can see above, I have a post war rectangular mirror on the driver side. The fixation is different from the round ones. I have bougth a NOS round one for changing but I'm still looking for the last part of mirror arm with the hole at end for screwing the mirror in place. Maybe Joel has one and can join it to my next order by him?

I may have, and hopefully the portion you have is the original so that they will be happy together. The type depicted on your truck is typical of those found in Europe on surplus trucks.
