I have a rebuild kit in the mail.... and absolutly no information on how to do a hydrovac rebuild.
It looks like a lot of simply gasket/seal replacment.... but any other GOTCHA's?
Anyone have a TM that covers Hydrovac rebuild?

1 ton hydrovac
Are the hydrovac's the same size
One would think a hydro for a one ton chevy feeding 4 brake cylinders is not the same as a 2 1/2 ton GMC feeding 6 cylinders . Plus I would say there is a big weight difference between the two trucks, I would aire on the side of caution when I push my brake pedal I want to stop
$172.00 with a life time warranty sounds great but are we talking apples for apples here.

You might not have enough juice to run all 6 cylinders.
There is a more modern diaphram type that I use in place of the piston type original

I have installed this single piston on my 21/2 ton and it will lock up all 10 wheels. Since I will not be hauling the weight I feel good about it. I researched this for months before I made a decision. I found a company that will rebuild the type II for about $500.00.
