Cowl Drain

Post by Cat Man »

Fernando,

Does that mean that there is a hose connection from the cowl vent down to the opening in the firewall?

I've seen what looked like a tube under the dash, but if there is supposed to be a hose connection, they always seem to be missing.

When driving my truck in a summer rain storm, there is usually so much water flying in everywhere it doesn't matter.

But your post answers yet another CCKW puzzzle.

Thanks

yes there is a "hose " connected to the fire wall
From memory approx 3/8 to 1/2 dia. 3 to 5 inches long
I've used re-inforced rubber fuel line as a replacement

The closed cabs have a 1/8' steel line drain in each corner of the windsheild these are usually plug with rust or rotted off as well , on my Chevy I used rubber vacuum line as a replacement and made sure they nearly exited at the front lower cab corners.

Hope this helps
