STEERING ARM

Post by Harold Frazee »

I have a 42 closed cab CCKW with banjo rears. The steering box froze up and cracked at some point over the years. The truck only turns to the right.I have a spare steering column with gear box from a 43 open cab with split rears. The spare column bolted right in,But when I go to hook up the steering arm it will not go on.The splines are just a little different.Does anyone have a steering arm for a timkin truck for sale?

I "believe" you can pull the sector gear/shaft out of the box and substitute the one from the original box if is OK.

In looking at the part manual, it appears that the housing is different which means that you cannot just change the sector shaft. They changed at sn 201680

My apologies
