My next project will be the transfer case. The problem is it started as a slow leak that has prgressively worsened over time. To be honest, for the last year I was just topping it off with fluid before any long drives but I knew someday it would need to be rebuilt with all new gaskets and seals. I was looking at the ORD 9 and there must be close to 15-18 seals and gaskets in the darn thing. (Now I remember why I was putting this off for so long!!)
My question is does anyone offer a rebuild kit for the transfer case or do you have to try to order all the seals/gaskets individually? Can they be obtained through Napa? Has anyone gone through this lately. Any input would be very much appreciated!

search the old posts
you will find references to using m35 seals on the shafts
and other threads
there are about 11 bearings in the TX, average price about $A80 each, and they get very worn, especially the needle roller bearings on the mainshaft.
i was lucky to get a rebuilt tx case cheap, as most of my bearings required replacement

Try Joel Gopan,Frank von Rosenstiel I believe they have "kits"
As Tony previously posted they share parts with post war GMCs so Memphis Equipment may also be a possibility
Hope this helps
John
PS Timken or Banjo it makes a difference

There is a specific "rebuild Kit" containing seals and gaskets. If you use the NOS seals, soak them in warm motor oil for a bit to soften the leather prior to installation
