Transfer case seals and gaskets

Is there a source for the Banjo transfer case seal & gasket set #2151667?

My transfer case is leaking rather badly at the upper (rear rear) driveshaft. At a minimum, I need the figure "8" shaped gasket NN #3660323.

Does anyone know if these are available?

The seals arrived today. Thanks Bill.

Should I try to replace the seals in place or pull the transfer case and do it on the bench?

If you have the hoisting equipment available to lower and raise it into position I would do it on the bench.

I don't know the exact weight but it is more than you can "hold up" without the use of some type of jack.

The most difficult part is getting the large nuts and flanges off for the prop shafts. Do you have, or have access to, a set of 3/4 drive sockets and a 3/4 drive impact? If so you could probably do it "in vehicle".

The transfer case is awkward to balance on a jack
A transmission type of jack is the safe way to remove it
An overhead crane works well to suspend it and lower it down....but... since you body is now installed that is out of the question.

I have used one of those ATV/transmission jacks and built a cradle for it out of scrap 2x4 and 2x6. The lift can be had cheap (usually $60) when it is cheap Chinese junk tools..

Seemed to work OK to raise and lower on the angle that it is mounted on.

I have taken banjo cases out by placing a piece of plywood on an unmounted car tire.

Take the bolts out and replace one on each side with a decent sized punch.

When everything is set, pull the punches simultaneously.

"Like an elephant having a baby..." :o

Getting it back in is a beach.

John is correct, use something better than a floor jack.

Also be careful: They are subject to falling over when sitting on a concrete floor! They are very much balanced to the side that they don't sit on.
