Open Cab floor seal

Hi all is there anyone out there who would post some pictures of the seal and retaining plates which fit round the hand brake leaver high/low leaver and front axle engaging leaver, on the floor panel of an open cab CCKW.

Nice floor panel my old one has alot more holes in it than that..
If you can take some closer pics of both sides of the felt seal for winch lever, the main gear lever seal and the brake fluid filler cover plug, is that an original one if so would you take some pics of that separately as I need one for my truck but don't know what one looks like close up.
Do know anything about the felt seals and plates which should go round the hand brake, high/low and front axle engaging levers?

Here are several pictures of the floor seal that covers the hand brake and transfer lever openings in the Open Cab CCKW. The original cover from a 1945 truck we have was a 1/4 inch thick dense wool felt material. The other photos are a replacement type made from cow hide leather. Easy to fabricate and looks good. I think the WWII Dodge trucks had a similar leather cover over the floor openings.







Seems we have to have the skills of a mechanic, carpenter, electrician, sailmaker, welder, painter and now shoe maker to keep these girls on the road.

You can "steal" this felt material out of a new car in the junkyard. Many cars use it over the rear wheels especially wagons. I made my pedal seal that way

That's a great idea. I'll add it to my list of items to scrounge on my next trip to the Junk Yard errr, ahh, I mean used material emporium and coffee shop.

Nice pics thanks, do you know what the wool felt stuff is called, does it have a special name ? A friend of mine has a Dodge WC52 and he has the leather thing as a cover looks good too but would like to try to get an original one with the felty stuff.

The material is "Dense Soft Felt". Dr Duece had the best idea, that is to find the same material in the rear trunk insulation panels (or "in the boot" in the UK) of a late model automobile in a salvage (breaking) yard.

In the USA, a company called Restoration Supply Company in California shows the material in their catalog simply as "Felt". They offer it cut to your dimension in 1/8 or 3/16 or 1/4 Inch thickness. Price is 0.42 cents per square inch. They say it is a natural white color so you could dye or paint it OD.

I would also check with local stores that sell sewing fabrics or handicraft material.

Very nice. Do you know how the high/low lever seal and metal surround fix to the floor panel ?

The seal is not secured to the floor. It slides down over the levers and rests on the floor. It is free to move with the levers. They don't move much in operation.
