DRIPS
It is safe to say that all CCKWs have a drip, some are greater than others, it is a never ending chore to keep them at a minimum.

I tell people that they are not completely house broken...
I have the 42 chev plow truck that has a very unique leak:
It leaks out the spline on the rear end and comes out thru the center of the driveshaft yoke. I replaced the yoke and it lessened it. I have to assume that thru abuse and wear over many years that the splines on the pinion shaft are worn allowing the GO to pass especially when hot

CCKW's are very much like the old radial engines used on WWII aircraft. Ihe old saying used to go like this. If it aint leaking some oil, it must be out of it. I have one small leak that only shows up when the engine is first turned off and comes from the area of the flywheel cover.

Dr. D, you are right about the spline being worn on the pinion. We run into this type of leak on the newer vehicles also. We usually just smear it with good silicone and that cures it. We had one trucker tell us that the silicone didn't work for him. He was sort of unkind in his remarks to us about our expertise .
He managed to fix it "right" with Loctite. Hope he never has to try and take the yoke off ever!!!
I would like to be there.
Happy New Year to all.
