Composite bed repair pictures

Post by Bill_Wolf »

This is what an "Airborne" 353 composite bed looks like when you have to take all the boards out and replace them because more than 50% were rotted after 60 years..

I will sand blast the steel part of the bed and frame while they are out.

Except for the outer edge of the outer rows there are no bolts put through the wood. They are held down by those steel straps which are also used as slides for the cargo so the wood bed does not get destroyed.

While the bed in in peces could you snap pics of EVERYTHING and e-mail or post them?

I'll be doing the same thing this year or next... plus it will be a good look at the frame to bed setup.

Thanks.

Not long ago I started taking the flooring out of Betty Boop and found I had termites in my Army Truck. I bet the Army never of having termite damage to their cargo trucks.
