The GMC CCKW

Was the radiator painted od or was it black in stock CCKWs? I just recieved my radiator back from the radiator shop and they have painted it black so I was wondering if I should leave it be or paint it od before I reinstall it.

I was also wondering what radiator caps you guys use. The one that I posted pictures of is no longer good except as a collectors piece as it is part of the truck's history.

All the rads I've seen Nos have been Black!!!,I'm painting mine Black with a white skull and cross bones in the middle. All our vehicles have been painted the same.

G'day Guys! I still have some NOS radiator caps for the CCKW. Can't remember the part number now , but they are in packed in original boxes....2 to a box. If you want one, send me an email. Cheers!

I bought some radiator caps from Ross (lendlease). The things look great as does the box. If you need a cap, ask Ross, you won't be disappointed

Be careful when painting your radiators, the cooling fins need to be exposed for the purpose of cooling. Too much paint covering the fins may act as an insulator and affect the cooling process.
