Guys, Hagerty Insurance just dropped me because I stated on the application that I would be using it in re-enactments. Can anyone recommend a good insurance company to do business with? It seems that most of the classic vehicle companys put to many restrictions on you. I have a CCKW 352 that is in good shape and getting better. Thanks!

I use JC Taylor, but I don't do re=enactments and have the insurance more from the legal standpoint of being insured to satisfy the local law enforcement agencies and of course parade officials.

Hi Lugnut,
As you know ins. regs. vary state to state.
Here in Maine my cckw is ins under my personal auto policy so there are no restrictions as to milage and use other than commercial for profit type of use.
The annual premium is more than the "antique/vintage" type of coverage however.
Also I have found the " less they know the better off you are "rule seems to work best.
Hope this helps
John.

Hi

I have Hagerty Insurance; however, I don't use the vehicle for reenactments. I agree, the least said in the application the better. Hagerty does require the vehicle to be stored inside a locked building.

Since you are in Indiana, try this company: Continental Western Group http://www.cwgcollectorcar.com/

They are easy to work with. Their coverage rates are very good too. And I did mention that I used my half-track in parades, living history events, and re-enacments when I sent my application in to them. They approved me, no questions asked.

Thanks all. Ron, I am waiting for a application from CWG even as we speak. Their quote was reasonable and they are friendly. I just got back from Rockford, Ill. Had a great time. The Russian guys had their Soviet copy of the American jeep.
