Attached are 2 pictures. The grey object in the centre of the
photo bolted to the cowl was attached to the truck when i first
got it.

I know this cause i took photos before dismantling, and now am reattaching all the little pieces that can so easily be lost.

Not sure whether this belongs originally tho, photos and TMs are not conclusive..in some shots it seems to be there, in others not. In any case I dont know what it does.

There are numerous other non-originalities in view, hopefully to be rectified soon. ie wiring harness

I am happy with my newly acquired hood support, so much better than the previous situation of hood on windscreen.

Can someone advise the correct type fasteners that go from the hood thru the hood support?

Hi awg
the item coloured grey is you ll find that it is original and it is the top part of the air cleaner for the hydrovac ... if you have access to technical manual TM9-801 you ll see it on page 162,330 and 354.... :) :) :)

Hi Tony
I believe the correct fasteners are phillips head machine screws 1/4"X 20
I see one in the photos holding the base brkt for the hood prop.
My CCKW has "cross slot " bolts for alot of assomblies.
Hope this helps
John
