Matt,
Here is what the military 6 Volt GMC CCKW Cab Heater looks like and were it mounts on the cabin fire wall, under the glove box.
I would look around later GMC trucks that are 12 volt and find a similar one. Some collectors will tell you that the CCKW "Never had a heater in them" We'll that just ain't so.
What do you need a heater for anyway, you're in California!

We don't have to worry about heaters in South Texas, thank goodness.

Hi Cat Man
I believe maybe a little more info is required
CCKWs were not" produced" ( in the sense they came off the assembly line )with cab heaters during WW2
However the " Arctic " package did included among other winterization items an in cab heater, some even had a hot water heater for the battery also.
I believe the tech manual pictured is part of that package isn't it?
Thanks
John

Those heaters are pretty tough to find and priced accordingly...
The civilian heaters of the day (assuming you fing the ringht ones) bolt right in. The cowl has knock out plugs for the pipes and mounting studs.

MM,
Man, if California has that much snow, I'm not moving there:shock:
I'm staying in Wisconsin.
John is probably correct. The little manual I would guess was part of a winter kit. Just wanted to show the gang what the military heater looks like installed in a CCKW.
It's always fun to see how many official "add on's" the military fielded.

I sure hope not.
Doc what is the heater that will bolt right in.
I'm assumeing it is one out of a 39 to 46 Chevy or Gmc truck.

Correct. Look to see that it fits into the knockouts in the firewall. There were quite a few different different ones, both GM and aftermarket

I ran into this GMC heater a while ago. I have no idea if it is for the CCKW.
