Dear all.

Hope everyone is well..?!

Just wanted to run this problem past you.......

I have fitted a gun ring to my Jimmy which is fine, no problem there. The problem that I have is that I can no longer use my mirror as the arm is stopped by the leg of the gun ring.

How do you guys get over this problem, or haven't you?

Cheers

Jack.

Mirror Arm Spacers

Jack,

We make the spacers by cutting two pieces of water pipe about 1/2 inch in diameter and long enough to space the mirror arm forward. Put the home made spacers over two long bolts and you're set. You can machine them if you have a lathe (I do) and didn't bother. Just cut them from pipe.

Here is what they look like.

I have also seen examples of the mirror bracket being mounted( in a vert, position) on the gun ring leg itself with 2 drilled and tapped holes for mounting
Hope this helps

Operation Spacer.

Ok folks sorted this problem out today :-D .....I used a old stool leg for the spacers - read on it will make sense!

I tend not to through anything away  and I knew that those old stool legs would be come in handy. Remember the old stools we used to have and the legs were covered in plastic?! Well I knew that the metal would be good enough to paint as it would be free from rust.......

So here it is -

Glad that worked for you Jack.

Maybe we have started a trend. There a probably a dozen other ways to do it, but the spacers do not modify the original truck or the Gun Ring Mounting Leg. So when the ring mount comes off - all is well and still original.

Drive on
