i just rolled out of the paint shop { the barn } and I'm going to let the paint season for about a week, then I'm looking to do the lettering . Has anyone used the plastic stencils that Ric Larson offers http://www.militarystencils.com/ I've never used them { always made my own} but they look a little neater ? Image Image

Looks good SnowMan

Yes Rick's stencils are the best way to go
You are right to let the paint cure properly
Sometimes having an extra set of hands when removing the masks is helpful.
You may have to slice the hood mask a little to get it to conform to the compound curve as well.
Especially if you're using the occupation star
Hope this helps

Beautiful Job!

I too have used Ricks Stencils on a couple of trucks and have found it is the best way to go.

And I agree with John. If you are using the invaision stars it is much easier than trying to use the oil board.

Red Ball Express, that would be just swell. The 514th would be pleased to have you in their convoy, East Coast too, so not as far as it could be !

Thought i would share the finished paint job , i used a smaller star { not to many air attacks in my sector although this one hang glider gets close} and decided to use 30th Infantry we still have a lot of Vet's in my town . The stencils work good you get the sharp lines and correct spacing, but can be a little fussy. Image
