Zinc in motor oil

Apparently, the motor oil manufacturers are/have been reducing the amount of zinc in motor oil in the latest revisions. This supposedly has a very bad affect on older engines cam shafts with solid lifters. It was identified previously by the antique farm tractor people.

There was an article in Hemmings Motor News about an additive that can be used. I will try to find it.
