Closed cab removal

Post by dr deuce »

I will be having my backhoe transported over to my other facility and plan to use it (in addition to yard work) to remove the closed cab from one of my parts truck that has a nice cab on it and get it (the cab) inside.

I was going to put a 4x4 through the door windows with a chain that could not slip back to the edges of the cab. Has anyone ever tried this before?

Hi Dr.
That is how I do mine, with 1 exception I have the doors removed and lift on the upper sill of the cab.
I don't know if the upper door/window channel is strong enough to "not crush" when the lifting occurs

Hope this helps

When i pulled the cab on my chevy. I bolted a 4x6 to the side of my loader bucket and wraped a old piece of carpet around it . And stabed it threw both window openings doors off . It worked lovely no damage. Iwas going to use the backhoe but didnt like the idea of the bucket hangen over the thing . Plus the liften height maybe would of been a issue with chain in there.
