According to Section 3 (Tabulated Data) of TM-9-801
353 Non winch, Open cab, without body = 8,100 lbs
Non winch, Closed cab, without body = 8,462 lbs
Both of those weights include the cab and fuel.

Thanks for the info guys.I was hoping to get it down to near 7500 lbs. That is about max on my trailer. It was a 353 open cab.I removed the entire body and most all of the bolt on parts.(fuel tank, radiator, driveshafts etc.)Do you think Im close to the weight I am trying to get to now?I have to haul this about 180 miles and Id hate to have trailer problems.

You are definitely under your limit. I wouldn't worry. The weight ratings are conservative and a couple of hundred pounds over is not a problem. The tabulated weight in the manual includes the cab and fuel. 40 gallons of fuel is 248 lbs all on its' own. Those other components will be pushing 750lbs. You have likely dropped over 1000lbs.

Thanks again for the help.I am going to get it in a week or so.I have hauled a closed cab minus the bed on my trailer,But that was only a 30 mile trip.It did feel very heavy and the brakes where at there limits.I dont think I would do it again for any distance.
