Folks,
Anyone have any pictures of how owners have adapted the 'banana" like tow bar for transport mounting on CCKW. I have seen distance shots of it mounted on the side of the bed for transport but can't make out the types of brackets being used.
Also pictures of it on the Diamond T wrecker with transport mount hardware would be great.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Tow bar mounting
This is an old thread, but I remembered a Tow Bar mounting and found my photos. This is on a wood body and the truck has the Set Number 7 equipment installed.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

I purchased one of these tow bars last June and hope to get it painted and mounted similar to this. On the 4 Ton Diamond T wreckers the tow bar is also on the right side but is mounted with the curved side at the top.
In these photo's you can see the rear bracket has a verticle pin that the tow bar is lowered onto. On the front there is a short verticle tube about the size of the inside diam of the lunette. The bar is retained with a top piece of channel iron about 6 inches long and it has a large safety pin fitted with a small chain so you don't loose the retaining bar.
Any day you don't need a tow bar is a good day.

Jeff,
Sorry about the delayed response. I was taking my son to College.
Interesting placement on the tow bar. I will examine it further.

Re: Tow bar mounting
I have the "Banana Bar" and V tow bar for my Diamond T. The pictures below show how it is mounted onto the bed of the Diamond T. Both assemblies are very heavy.
