The GMC CCKW

I'v fitted a new clutch etc after it went Bang! the other day. Thought the end of the world had arrived!
I have adjusted the pedal free travel to half an inch as this seems right but in the manual it gives 2.5 inches, which seems excessive.
Has anyone else adjusted the pedal free travel to this or is this too close and could damge the fingers?
Advice would be gratefully received.

Adjust the clutch so it just disengages when it hits the floor (1/2-3/4")

The freeplay is what it is. There will be a lot with a new clutch and none when it is worn out.

I have all the manuals, only one is correct.


Do NOT adjust it for freeplay or you will overstress the diaphram and it will fail!
