How long battery last ??

When enjoying rally at Borne Sulinowo (BTW definitively worth visiting) my dynamo packed up, have tried to replace brushes, checked connectivity but without success. When connected to power dynamo rotates but only just, can be stopped wit bare hand.

So I was stuck 450 kilometres away from home with faulty dynamo. There was few of us but only me with 6V system so no swapping batteries possible. We decided to cut our stay short and get going home. Day and half later I am happy to inform that I managed to get back safely. On the way I did not use headlamps (which by the way is mandatory), indicators or any electricity with exception for brake light. Starting was done by the means of push or rather tow start. Before commencing journey the battery had 6,3V now, home it is 6,1V. All in all I reckon the engine was running for about 11-12 hours. When trying to fix dynamo I had probably started the engine about 10 times. So if left without dynamo don’t panic there is still plenty electricity left.

On strongly related matter, if you have 6V 40 Amp dynamo which is not needed anymore I would be much interested.

your gen should outtput around 7.7 volts when the engine is running/charging. if not close to that, you will not charge the battery
