Ever Seen This Before Round a Brake Hose ?

Hi guys

Recently visited the Historic Chatham Dockyard here in the UK. Here's a link to a range of photos I took:

Anyway, amongst a modest a vehicle collection they have was a CCKW with a brake hose I haven't seen before. Any thoughts ?

There are hoses like that on some 70's and 80's era construction equipment that I own.

It's sometimes called "Hose Armor"

They are Very common . All the lines hard and flex are armored on my Dodge M37. I don't know if it was common before the M series vehicles were introduced post WW2.

WWII 3/4 ton Dodges all had armored lines.
