That there was fierce competition in the old Army of the 40s-50s between Ordnance support units and they would randomly select , for example, CCKWs that were reponsibility of their rivals and do a "Command Maintenance Inspection" on them. A favorite item was to check differential tolerances and the Trunion Bars to see if they were maintained to spec. I'll bet that the majority of you following this post do not maintain the bearings and adjustment on your Trunion Bars let alone have an idea where they are located.
