EVEN MORE NUMBERS!

Post by ERB72 »

ON THE 353 HI, IM REBUILING, RIVETTED TO THE ENGINE SIDE OF THE BULKHEAD,ABOVE THE GENERATOR REGULATER IS A SMALL METAL STRIP APPROX 3"x7/16 REVERSE STAMPED ON TO THIS STRIP IS A 10 DIGIT NUMBER WHICH DOSNT SEEM TO HAVE ANY COMMON SEQUENCE WITH EITHER THE CHASSIS NUMBER,ENGINE NUMBER OR ORDNANCE NUMBER. CAN ANY MEMBER OFFER AN EXPLINATION FOR ITS PURPOSE? CAN THIS NUMBER BE USED IN ANY WAY TO TRACE ANY HISTORY OF THIS TRUCK?

Tracing the actual history of these old trucks is next to impossible to do. 65 years of service in both military and civilian use has erased the original duty point of the truck. Good luck ,however on your quest. :D
