2800-3000# depending if the subframe has the hydraulic lift cylinder and pump. Deduct 200# if w/o troopracks. Do not forget chains and binders to hold it down. Rope will not suffice. (Cargo body weighs about 900# less.)

Thanks Joel. I have commercial ratchet straps, chains with binders. It should be a fun trip.

What are you going to do with the dump body? Does the complete system go with it it? PTO, Control levers? Linkages, Drive shaft, pump, brackets? If you intend to ever mount the Dump Body, and use it, your best chance to get all the parts will be on this trip as you will never find the pieces at any parts dealers. Some of the control linkage mounts on the Master cylinder bracket. You may want to have a good assortment of mechanics tools and a torch to remove stubborn bolts. The floorboard is special, as it has provisions for the dump body control lever. Make sure the Tailgate is secure when handling the body for safety reasons. hopefully there will be a Fork lift handy to load the body onto your conveyance, if not make sure that the subframe is chained to the body at the front or it may drop down when lifting the body by chain. Dump bodys can be a handful. You may want to bring your TM9-801 along, it has a couple sections on the Dump Body. Take Hornet spray also.

Thanks for the feedback Joel. I boughy it because it was cheap enough and not that far from me. I will get all that goes with it, believe me. I will clean it up and hopefully be able to provide one to somoone that wants to reatore a CCKW dump truck. I had originally bid just to see what his reserve price was and no one else bid on it and he lowered the reserve price to below my 350.00 bid, so I ended up with it.
Not so much for investment, but to help out another MVer to restore another piece of history.
Joel, question, are there alot of the dumps around? I have not seen many listed on this site.

The MVPA has many members with CCKW, no all are into the on line thing. There are as many CCKW Cargo Dumps available as there are Cargo trucks. This site is only the tip of the iceberg, many of the older, or long time collectors have "been there, done that" and are enjoying life. Ex, Greg Wolanin, a worthy candidate for MVPA Board(Sorry-Politics) has an impressive collection of CCKWs and Armor from WWII, many Red Ball Members have CCKWS, and enjoy them, but are "mum" on the 'puter. Some are too busy with their careers to "BS" on the net. Bottom Line is that we on this site ain't the only CCKW guys out there. I have Magazines from Europe that show large numbers of CCKW activity in Europe.

Thanks for the info. I have been a MV'er a long time, but just locally and with jeeps. I really have a hard time in prospective having the only running CCKW within the San Antonio area, so my knowledge of what is and isn't is limited on these trucks. It is nice to know that there are a lot of dump trucks out there. I hope someone will find need for restoration of one and will have need of this bed.
