Stencil on CCKW bed?

Post by pfarber »

The front of my CCKW bed is stenceled with the following:

CARGO BODY 80X144
DRAWING NO.7064280
FOR 2 1/2 TON, 6X6 OR 6X4
G.M.C. STUD OR REO

Its centered on the front.

Keep it or take it off (post war)?

Is the body new? Is the paint on the front panel the same age as on the rest. What did the body come off from. The same body fits REO Studebaker and CCKY, excepy that the relief for the Fuel filler cap is on drivers side. Some later cargo bodies were made for all three. You should post a pic to get a more accurate answer.
