Windshield wiper motors

I took the wiper motors off of the windshield frame today and one wiper is a Trico and is dated 1943, and the other is an Anco and is undated (probably a replacement.) I was happy to find the 1943 on the Trico motor though. The motors are in very nice condition and are now going into storage so they don't get ruined.

The Open cab uses Trico S-583-1 Motors, same as some WC Dodges, and the MB with factory Wipers. They were last used on the M-37.

The two wipers I have are Trico's both marked U.S.Property

No difference to the cool crowd on the CCKW site, but it would generate 1000 hits on a Jeep site, and get you a lot of insults, and make you feel your truck is worthless. Nitpickers trying to be somebody that they are not would get 10 seconds of fame before returning to the title of "pain in the ass". Ord. Part No 800544 is same for all S-583-1 Wiper Motors, whether they are on CCKW, WC, M-37, MB/GPW/CJ-2A. Knowing U is a history buff, I gave you the works. That will be $.25 please.

You are definately right about the 503 bunch and jeeps. What nit pickers. Frankly my truck had no windshield or wipers when I got it. I had these two wipers in my parts and they WORKED, which was most important to me. I kind of like the U.S.Property markings. I know they did not come from a CJ2.I have a couple of the later M38 wipers that have the handles and they even work with less vacume than the older WWII types and appear to wipe faster when under engine load.
