CCKs and CCKW Water Tanker

Post by James G. Davis »

Hello,
Any CCKWophiles out there who know of, have seen or better yet driven a CCK, a 6x4 CCKW? Great trucks, 70 mph on the highway. Had some in basic trianing in Utah in early '43.

Am looking for info on the 700 gallon water tanker built on the LWB CCKW in WW II. Need to know:
1. The make, type (centrifugal, piston or rotary gear) and the output (gallons of water per minute at what pounds per square inch) of the pump in the large metal box at the left front corner of the tank body.
2. The make, size (one or more cylinders) and horsepower of the engine driving the pump.

This truck was included in the T/O & E for WW II Engineer Fire Fighting Platoons for use a as water tender. I have some TM info on the truck.

Thanks,
