Hi all
Hope you all have had a good holliday and its back to work now So I now need some help some of you may know that I like the diffrent type of truck I am looking for photos or drawings of the G.M.C
DCKW this was the low profile truck built in 1944 if I can get photos
and the parts I hope to make a replice of this GMC hope some one
out there can help me
All the best Jerry.
From the one photo I have seen of the DCKW in the book "GMC a Universal Truck" it was based on a non winch chassis but had a winch fitted.I assume this required the engine to be mounted further back in the chassis.do you have the tech specs on the truck? what type of winch was fitted?
What cowl was used? from the pic I think the front sheetmetal was made specifically for the DCKW.
Hi all
I only have the one photo of ths truck can you mail me any photos you have I would be most gratefull if you could or do you know of any
govament site in the USA were thay might keep the records of this type of truck.
All the best Jerry.
Hi Jerry
According to Vanderveen's Fighting Vehicles Directory WW11 GMC built
several similar experimental prototypes in 42/43 designated DCKW-3 DAKW-602 and DOKW-602. Studebaker also produced 3 different prototypes and International produced 1. Sorry no pics as I haven't got a scanner.
Cheers
