lifting capacity of winch

The CCKWX that I have has an A frame attached to the front bumper,it has to be the most useful vehicle I have, last month I loaded two M-37s by lifting the front, driving the trailer under it then lifting the back and pushing it on,the best loading method I've ever used,it takes ten minutes. But I'm worried about the winch capacity, theoritically it should be able to lift a car,but what is the actual safe limit that should be lifted, the A frame is extremely heavy duty, with the original snatch block and winch cable. I've heard the gears can be a trouble item, will they go before the shear pin? The A frame is about ten feet long at about a 45 degree angle,I'm sure it's not good on the frame, but it's just so useful!

Winch is rated at 10,000Lb on the first layer of wire rope. That is calculated as the first layer on the bare drum. The capacity is less as the cable builds up on the drum.
