Changing tires

Post by dr deuce »

I have been getting quite a bit of (renewed) tire changing experience lately with a total of 12 (I think) when I am done.

I had a recently sandblasted wheel that the blaster decided to pop the ring back onto for safe keeping. I worked on that one wheel for about 20 minutes before it came off where the previous 3 came off relatively easily.

When trying to get the ring off you ask yourself:

"What the hell is holding this ring on..."

When you finally get it off, and look at what holds it on you ask yourself:

"What the hell is holding this ring on..."

Thank GOD for my Bear Truck Tire Changing machine...!

Ohhhh, you young guys. I dismounted and remounted one tire and decided to let the local truck tire company do the work. A young man built like the California Governor came out in his service truck and did the remaining 9 tires and wheels all for $180.00 and hauled off the old tires in the process. It took about an hour to do the complete job. That meant jacking up the truck, removing the wheels from the truck and the dismounting, remounting and re-installing the tires. That is a bargain for an old geezer like me. :D

My Bear truck tire changing machine cost me $175! About the best $175 I ever spent...!

If the machine cannot break down the bead on a really old tire, it will proceed to take the tire apart!

That is a good investment. Man breaking those things down without a machine is just plain too much work, especially for an old man.
