When?

Does anyone have any idea when the Army quit accepting CCKWS during WWII. How long after the war did they continue to accept the trucks they had contracted for, or did they cancel the contracts? Please advise to the best of your knowledge. Thanks.

Montpelier received a stop order September 45 and remaining contracts were renegotiated by the Army. The interesting part according to my Dad was the Army later auctioned off the inventory and since there were no bidders, they ask Montpelier to make a token bid. He being Montpelier offered $50.00 and got the inventory which was used on a subsequent army purchase in the fifties. As I remember the remaining inventory was classified as “Governmentâ€Â
