Anybody know the LIGHT weight on a CCKW cab and chassis with no body and no winch? Seek the light weight on both the metal cab and the rap top cab models.
Thanks,
Jim

I know that the steel bed weighs in at about 2500 pounds. The wooden bed, believe it or not, is actually a little heavier because of the thickness of the wooden floors for strength.

I have a copy of TM9-2800-1 titled "Military Vehicles (Ordnance Corps Responsibility)" dated 2/1953.
On page 235 it shows a CCKW cab and chassis.
It lists the net weight as 8,100 pounds. (includes the spare tire and wheel)

Hello Bill,
Thanks for the info. A couple of questions. Does TM 9-2800 (1953 version) show the CCKW as a GMC or the later CCKW that I think was a Reo? Learned recently that while most of the world accepts CCKW as a 2-1/2 ton 6x6 GMC, the term CCKW can also apply to 4 ton Diamond Ts and larger as long as they are 6x6.
The weight in your message was for the full metal cab or the soft rag top?
Am I right on this?
Aloha,
Jim
