When I was taking a clower look at my radiator cap today, I noticed some markings on it so I cleaned it up. This first photo is after I had repainted it to prevent rusting.

I know that this cap isn't original to the truck but I know that it is war production as the original paint is OD green. Has anyone else seen any caps like this on a CCKW? Sorry for my blurry pictures, I just couldn't hold the camera steady today and these are the best of the bunch.

So lets see, so far my truck is a GMC that was rebuilt in a BMW factory that has a Cadillac radiator cap and an f marked bolt holding the hydrocav on. :?

G'day mate!
I think you will find that the Cadillac radiator cap you have is what was originally fitted to the M24 Chaffee tank, as it had 2 side valve V8 Cadillac engines. I have some of those caps here, NOS.

The original GMC CCKW radiator cap has a short bar spot welded at the 6 o'clock? position to tighten or remove it with using your thumb for added torque?

There was a thread over a year ago on radiator caps. It can be found here
