Radios

Post by Lugnut »

Greetings. I was just looking thru TM 11-2709 on mounting the BC-620 and 659. I have all the stuff to mount one except for FT-317, the bracket that mounts the radio under the dash. Has anyone own or seen this mount? If I had a good flick of one I could probably make it. Also the TM shows the MP-50 antenna bracket mounted on the passangers side of the bed with the MP-48 antenna base. I have also heard of the BC-728 tactical receiver used in the CCKW. Any one know of any other radios used in the CCKW?

They had the HO-17 shelter that slid into the cargo body with an SCR-299 or SCR-399 radioset in it.

The earlier SCR-299 was in a Chev K51 panel truck which is what I am presently restoring.

The SCR-299 had a 400 watt transmitter (BC-610) powered by a PE-95 10kw genset carried in a K52 (Ben Hur) 1 ton trailer towed behind. In addition, there were two receivers: A BC-312 and BC-324? I think.

Commo van

Post by Lugnut »

Thanks Doc. I remember seeing a TM with pictures of a commo body. It had 2 MP-48s and one MP-47 mast base. I have a MP-47 that I would sale or trade.
