Hi ,I'm after some info on what these specs should read for a 352 with winch. I want to put this back on my Fuel tank but I can't read all the numbers etc ..Anyone help??
Very interesting markings. Having the weight and truck diminisions on the fuel tank. My old 353, Betty Boop had the following marking in black on the flight line yellow paint.
NO AVIATION FUEL
I put the same markings on my new OD tank in white.

I always thought that old GMC 270 would probably would have loved some 130 octane high lead av gas.

We run low lead avgas in a lot of our WWII era vehicles all the time and it works great. The biggest advantage is that avgas will not varnish or deteriorate after sitting. It can sit for years and not varnish. I would think that high octane would be fine for these old trucks since the main function of octane is to make the fuel ignite closer to the appropriate compression and tempurature. It should help eliminate any knocks during engine loading.
I used to have a Florida airboat that had an O-540 E4B5 Lycoming aircraft engine on it and ran aviation fuel. I kept a couple of 55 gallon drums of the stuff at my boat stall at the beach house in Port O'Connor, Texas.
I needed some gasoline for my lawnmower one sat evening and put aviation fuel in it and it ran great. That little Briggs and Stratton is just a little air cooled aircraft engine so to speak and it loved the stuff.

Ever since I got the 41 CCKW running I have used low lead AV gas. The 270 would idle great. It sounded like a diesel but that is from a cracked exhaust manifold.
