Did I hear someone (Joel?) say that the M-Series troop seat brackets are different (as in will not fit) a CCKW or Chevy?

That is right, there is an offset problem. They are different, but could be used if the racks were made from scratch. M-Series bracketd are not a "bolt on" thing as they are made different. The supports for the lazy backs have the same problem, different btackets.

Joel:
Just so I/we understand:
You can use M-series troop seat metal brackets etc IF you are using new wood/building it from scratch?
Thanks

Yes, and the CCKW parts will not retrofit into the holes that were drilled for the M-series parts. Same for the head boards, the hardware is unique to M-Series. You wil have a custom job, and it will look OK I have NOS M-Series troop Racks, and have shown many owners who would not believe me. Bow Corners remained identical over 60 years, except for dropside. I Have Corners and the special screws.

You can also use the M-Series wooden bows by removing about 4" from each end (do 2 cuts, not one 8" cut) and redrilling the holes.

Only slight detail, is that CCKW Bows had more pronounced arc(shorter Radius) than M-Series.

Joel, do you have some bow corners for sale? I'm looking for 10 corners for my CCKW. I should be able to find a carpenter who can make the wood part of the bows.

I have NOS Bow Corners, and the special Army Issue Screws that go with them(5 per corner). The Screws are same Ordnance Part number, but have evolved into a slightly thicker head.
