I would be interested to hear from anyone with a truck which has a chassis number in the following ranges.
CCKW-353-64465-2 to CCKW-353-64484-2.
CCKW-353-64485-2 to CCKW-353-64491-2.
CCKW-353-153019-1 to CCKW-353-153218-1
CCKW-353-218925-1 to CCKW-353-218931-1.
All the above are listed in TM 10-1562,Parts book.July 1st 1942.page 135.the reason they are listed by chassis number is the chassis rails differed from the standard cargo trucks,obviously these trucks were destined to be fitted with a specialist body such as compressor or shop van etc.my other question is as the chassis numbers are given in the July 1st 42 edtion of TM 10-1562 are we to assume they had already been produced by that date? 218925 to 218931 seem high for July 42.
I know production date and delivery date are not the same thing and can differ by a couple of months,especially where special bodied trucks are concerned.
Any thoughts welcome!
