Have reinforced Chassis Frame Rails, and one may see these chassis on Cargo Trucks overhauled in Europe.

Joel, what did the reinforcement look like?

It is not in any of the usual TMs, but the frame from the cab back is beefed up by additional plating that hangs down in a manner to deepen the Chassis. The LeROI Compressor was mounted in a manner that if it were on a conventional chassis it would flex the chassis behind the cab to destruction. It was reinforced the same on the various vans. Perhaps Dr D can furnish a pic. Wen the Cargo Body is attached, the mounting bolts have to be adjusted to different locations, it makes the mounting of the Spare Tire Carrier a pain.

Mine has angle iron running from the rear of the front spring hanger to right in front of rear wheels. I did have to cut out part to mount spare tire. My 353 left the fatory as a cab and chassis, when I got it, (off the farm) it did have a full size gas tank. Did the air compressor use the full size gas tank?

The gas tank on a compressor truck is at the rear under the air tank,it is not a standard CCKW gas tank.most shop vans and compressors are on -1 and -2 chassis.
